Job Description

The position of Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports as well as overseeing the overall accounting function for Abundant life.

· Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-7 & 9:12).

· Become a member of Abundant Life Church.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Under direction of the Finance & Administration Director, manage the accounting function in accordance with established principles and standards.

· Review and audit expense accounts, corporate credit card entries, and payables.

· Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.

· Manage accounts payable and process payments in a timely manner.

· Perform corrections to AL financial books as needed.

· Process all journal entries to ensure expenses are coded to the correct accounts.

· Close monthly and annual books in a timely manner.

· Produce financial statements and various custom financial reports for analytics.

· Lead Accounting Clerks in general bookkeeping responsibilities.

· Support annual external audit engagements.

· Other administrative duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

This position operates in a fast-paced, professional office environment and routinely uses office equipment such as phones, copiers, and other standard equipment. Typing, proofreading, and computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Office) are required, along with the ability to handle precise detail in relation to administrative tasks. Must have a heart for ministry and exhibit the patience, tact, respect, empathy, and courtesy required to be the face of Abundant Life to the outside community.

Education/Experience

· A degree in accounting is required.

· 3-5 years of professional accounting experience is preferred.

· Proficiency with Sage Intacct accounting software is preferred.
