Job Description: Assistant Project Manager - Substations

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager specializing in substation construction to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting the Project Manager in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of substation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets for substation construction projects.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
• Monitor project progress and performance against established plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Prepare regular status reports and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
• Support the management of project risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment on-site.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and challenges during project execution.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage client expectations and maintain positive relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Previous experience (2+ years) in project management, particularly in substation construction or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Familiarity with QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) processes and principles.

Preferred Background in QA/QC: A background in QA/QC is preferred due to the critical importance of maintaining high-quality standards in substation projects. Experience in implementing QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, and ensuring adherence to project specifications will be highly valued. This background will enable the Assistant Project Manager to contribute effectively to ensuring the reliability and longevity of substation infrastructure, thereby enhancing project outcomes and client satisfaction.
