JOB SUMMARY

  • Serves as a clinical member of the multi-disciplinary team, completing face to face assessments and intakes as well as providing education, rehabilitation, and support for clients of the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center.
  • Will provide individual and family therapy as indicated.
  • Will assist clients in developing plans of action, support, and discharge.
  • In addition, the Master's Level clinician position is intended to provide hope for clients by offering a variety of therapeutic interventions.
  • Follows-up on client to ensure treatment is being rendered.
  • Triage and crisis assessments completed as needed.
  • This position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, and going down on knees, running, and walking.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function with typical work week including four 10-hour shifts.

1. Participates as an active member of the BHUCC team.

  • Begins and ends workday as scheduled.
  • Communicates with community partners to determine referral eligibility.
  • Responds appropriately to all flags, emails, and phone calls.
  • Demonstrates a consideration and concern for fellow workers and their jobs and promotes harmonious relationships and attitudes
  • Attends and participates in scheduled administrative team meetings
  • Attend and participates in daily treatment team meetings or preparation
  • Utilizes supervisor for ongoing clinical supervision as well as utilizing on call supervisor for questions as they arise

2. Completes documentation of client care in compliance with Center standards.

  • Completes all necessary documentation for each client before end of shift.
  • Clearly documents time of referrals and declines.
  • Flags, emails, or calls case managers/discharge planner/outpatient therapist to alert provider that client was seen in the BHUCC and gives pertinent information.

3. Provides face to face assessments and service delivery 24/7/365.

4. Provides direct care to clients as indicated.

  • Ensures that hope is being provided through support, action planning, and education to our clients utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Provides crisis de-escalation as needed
  • Provide education and referral information.
  • Acts as a liaison with community agencies and families to ensure appropriate care for resident
  • Spends adequate time with client throughout their stay to assist in helping client to identify most appropriate services and treatment available.
  • Conducts individual/family/significant other therapy with clients as clinically indicated.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $54,631/yr based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule:

  • Regular attendance is an essential job function with typical work week including four 10-hour shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS - Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center (BHUCC) Master's Clinical Counselor

Experience:

  • Must have course work and or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, trauma, suicide risk assessment/prevention/intervention, and crisis intervention.
  • Must have experience in working with special populations including individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses and Co-Occurring Disorders.
  • Computer experience is helpful.
  • Experience working in a crisis setting is preferable.

Education / Knowledge :

  • A Master's degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology, social work, sociology and experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Preferred Master's level licensed or license eligible clinician.

Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:

  • Exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones.
  • Close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
