Mill Plain Electric is seeking a full-time BIM Modeler I to join our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team in Gillette, WY. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals interested in technology, construction, and design who are eager to learn and grow within the electrical industry.

The BIM Modeler I is responsible for creating accurate 3D Building Information Models (BIM) and drawings used by our project teams to fabricate and install electrical systems efficiently and safely.

This role reports to the VDC Manager. Compensation is hourly commensurate with skills and experience and is reviewed annually. Clear advancement opportunities exist through BIM Modeler II, III, and IV.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

· Develop 3D models and construction drawings based on sketches, notes, and direction from supervisors.

· Ask questions and actively learn Mill Plain Electric’s modeling, drawing standards, and CAD and BIM software platforms.

· Work on multiple projects throughout the workday and adapt to shifting priorities.

· Pursue continuous personal and professional development, both on and off the job.

· Strong spatial reasoning and visualization skills.

· Willingness to learn, take feedback, and try new things.

· General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

· E xperience with design software is a plus but not mandatory.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills, or a willingness to develop them.

· Basic understanding or interest in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its applications

· Familiarity with Architecture and Construction Drawings

· Willingness to learn Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team

· High school diploma or equivalent; interest in pursuing knowledge in construction/architecture-related fields is an advantage
