Job Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for the building tools to create financial and business reporting for Kreher Family Farms. The Business Analyst works with the CFO and IT Manager to determine the best use of resources to achieve business objectives for end users. They will be expected to produce regular reports using data and working collaboratively across the business to analyze business performance and strategy.

Job Responsibilities

• Build financial reporting tools, and human resource metrics.
• Prepare financial data and create financial models for decision support.
• Report on financial performance and prepare data for regular leadership reviews.
• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools.
• Work closely with the Controller/accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Provide assistance to business unit leaders with various projects as their skills are deemed necessary.
• Support the cost analysis process by building tools and providing sound financial data for end users.
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools and dashboards.
• Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
• Perform market research, data mining and business intelligence as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The Business Analyst must be very knowledgeable about all standard accounting principles, and state and federal financial compliance and reporting laws and regulations.

The Business Analyst must also have the following skills and abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
• High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
• Ability to create SQL views, and understanding of business intelligence software such as Power BI
• Strong fluency with Excel formulas, functions, and graphing
• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong presentation skills. Comfortable interacting with executive-level management
• Good business acumen
• Very organized – strong organization skills
• Strong systems thinking skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally to training/seminars and to attend professional organization meetings

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analytics or business systems analysis
