A manufacturing company in Waukesha, Wisconsin is looking to hire a Buyer to join their team!

What You’ll Do:

• Reviews requisitions for materials within ERP system
• Analyze each item for quantity, specifications and delivery requirements
• Develop and investigate sources to issue requests for quotations for those items not covered by existing arrangements.
• Interact with subcontractors to purchase fabricated, machined and welded components.
• Identify alternate sourcing if needed, based on quality, price and delivery
• Contact potential suppliers and negotiate quotes on most favorable terms
• May need to investigate suppliers’ capabilities to furnish materials, finished parts or services.
• Use technical drawings, discusses technical requirements with vendors such as dimensions, tolerances, finishes and other aspects of manufacturing.
• Determine best source by evaluating quotation or by application of an existing arrangement or by approved procedures; interviews vendor representatives; produces purchase orders within prescribed dollar limits (< $15,000) and under supervision of Purchasing Supervisor or Manager (>$15,000); negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
• Perform follow-up work on orders to ensure vendor compliance with terms of purchase, especially delivery dates and quantity/quality; resolves invoice discrepancies.
• May participate in supplier visits and audits to qualify vendors; evaluates vendor performance based on personal knowledge of quality, prices, service and delivery, as well as feedback from Production, Receiving and Engineering.
• Maintain procurement records.
• Discus defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Must Have Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience of manufactured or fabricated, machined or welded parts or assemblies
• Bachelor’s Degree is ideal
• ERP experience
• Ability to interpret data from manufacturing requisitions and procure the materials needed at price/quality standards
• SAP experience
• Highly adaptable to change and eager to grow
• Must be comfortable with a minimally structured environment, not many SOPs in place at the moment

Salary of $75 - 88K Annually - Flexibility depending on skills and education
