Job Summary:

We are seeking an AutoCAD Technician / Drafter with experience in civil construction surveying, site development, and underground utilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in accurately documenting and drafting as-built plans, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards, as well as assisting the survey department with establishing project control, layout, and documenting work in progress.

Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate as-built plans for civil construction projects (primarily site development) based on field survey data, including underground utility infrastructure (water, sewer, storm, fire hydrants), earthworks / grading, building pads, roadway, curb, gutter, manholes, retaining walls, sidewalks, ADA ramps, etc.
• Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D software to create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D models for underground infrastructure and surface terrain.
• Ensure drawings reflect the actual construction and installation, including deviations from original plans.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to gather data and verify as-built information.
• Draft other types of land surveys including boundary and topographic.
• Prepare construction staking data and point files for field crews.
• Research land and monument records, GIS data, and other sources to support survey projects.
• Communicate effectively with Professional Land Surveyors and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate documentation.
• Conduct thorough reviews of as-built drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations governing civil construction and drafting requirements.
• Ensure as-built documentation meets all regulatory and permitting requirements.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in civil drafting and Autodesk Civil 3D to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience in construction survey drafting.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Autodesk Civil3D software.
• Familiarity with survey data collection and and file creation.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Curious nature, growth mindset, and forward-thinking / proactive.

Ideal / Preferred Experience:

• Expertise in utilizing Civil3D tools for surface modeling, grading, and design.
• Proven success drafting as-built surveys for civil construction projects including underground utility infrastructure, earthworks, roadways, and related components / structures.
• Strong knowledge of Northeast Florida specifications, requirements, codes, regulations, etc. (Duval, St. Johns, Nassau, Baker, Clay, Putnam, & Flagler)

Minimum Requirements:

• Reliable Transportation
• Required to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test
• Required to pass Background Check
• Must have a clean/insurable driving record

Job Type: Full-time, Direct Placement

Pay: $28-38/hr base salary based on experience, with opportunities for bonus compensation

($65,000 - 90,000 annually)

Expected hours: ~40-45 per week, Normal Schedule is 43.5 per week

• Monday to Friday, normal business hours with some flexibility

Experience:

• AutoCAD: 2 years (Preferred)
• AutoDesk Civil 3D: 1 year (Preferred)
• Civil / Underground Utilities: 1 year (Preferred)
• As-Builts: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute (as needed if working Hybrid/Fully Remote):

• Jacksonville, FL
