Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Chief Information Security Officer to lead Accrete AI's cybersecurity strategy and oversee the protection of our digital assets. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security policies and best practices, particularly within the AWS ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security, compliance standards, and industry best practices to maintain the integrity of our operations and protect our clients' data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Security Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy to safeguard Accrete AI's systems, networks, and data assets.
  • AWS Security Management: Oversee and manage security configurations and practices within AWS, leveraging tools and services like AWS IAM, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and Security Hub.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify, document, and mitigate security risks.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, NIST 800-171/53, and GDPR. Collaborate with internal teams to address audit requirements. Understand STIG and CIS hardening standards.
  • Incident Response: Develop and manage the incident response plan, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a security-focused team, fostering a culture of proactive risk management and awareness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to integrate security measures seamlessly into the product life cycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on emerging security trends, threats, and technologies, ensuring that Accrete AI's security practices evolve with the landscape.

Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in AWS security management and familiarity with key services and best practices within Cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers and application security. Understanding of Veracode or equivalent software and Harbor or equivalent software. 
  • DevSecOps mentality with an understanding of how to automate vulnerability detection and drive prevention to the left of the SDLC. Strong knowledge of CI/CD processes.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, identity and access management, data protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Proven experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, NIST 800-171/53, and GDPR.
  • Hands-on experience in incident response and disaster recovery planning.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in high-stakes situations.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are a plus.
