About Fynn
Fynn is building the future of resident care—combining predictive technology, design, and data to solve one of the most overlooked challenges in healthcare. Built specifically for senior living communities, our platform helps providers deliver proactive, personalized care that empowers older adults to live healthier, happier, and longer lives. We believe the next frontier of healthcare isn’t just clinical—it’s data-driven, anticipatory, and embedded directly into the fabric of day-to-day resident life.
Through intuitive tools that unify electronic health records, medication management, billing, care coordination, communication, and analytics, Fynn equips care teams with the insight and efficiency they need to shift from reactive interventions to proactive outcomes. Our goal is simple but bold: radically improve how care is delivered in senior living through software that works as hard as the people using it.
Role Overview
As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Fynn, you’ll shape the future of our product—from strategy through execution. You will define and own the product vision, ensure tight alignment with market needs, and lead the teams that turn concepts into real solutions for senior living providers. This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and user value—someone who can both architect the big picture and bring it to life through focused, hands-on execution.
You’ll lead our engineering and product functions, guiding roadmap prioritization, sprint planning, and architecture while actively contributing to delivery alongside your team. You’ll work directly with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional peers to translate real-world care challenges into simple, powerful technology that improves lives.
This is a founder-caliber role for someone ready to take full ownership of product and platform in a company solving a real, scalable problem. At Fynn, we move quickly and care deeply about what we build. Our pace is intentional—we believe speed, clarity, and ownership are essential to delivering transformational products. The ideal candidate is an experienced product and engineering leader who takes pride in building software that scales, works, and matters.
Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy
o Define and continuously evolve Fynn’s product vision and roadmap in collaboration with the Fynn team, rooted in user needs, market shifts, and technical innovation
o Own product prioritization and tradeoffs with a focus on long-term value creation and near-term speed to impact
o Cultivate a deep understanding of our users—caregivers, administrators, seniors, and families—to ensure we’re building technology that meaningfully improves their lives
o Drive product discovery and delivery cycles that translate opportunities into simple, scalable, and powerful solutions
o Define and measure success not just by feature delivery, but by impact on user behavior, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes
Engineering & Delivery Leadership
o Lead Fynn’s engineering organization with a hands-on mindset and a builder’s discipline—fostering a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement
o Architect and help deliver a robust, modern platform (Java/Spring Boot, Angular, AWS, hybrid mobile), while enabling modular scale and system resilience
o Champion a tightly integrated product-engineering workflow that favors iteration, user feedback, and fast shipping
o Establish and maintain a high bar for system performance, security, observability, and operational excellence
o Define and measure success not just by feature delivery, but by impact on user behavior, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes
AI/ML & Data Strategy
o Lead Fynn’s approach to AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics, ensuring our platform evolves into a system that not only documents care—but anticipates it
o Identify opportunities to integrate intelligent features that personalize care, flag risk, automate workflows, or enhance family engagement
o Partner with product and data teams to unlock the value of platform data—ensuring responsible, secure, and ethical use of AI-driven insights
o Stay at the forefront of emerging AI/ML frameworks, generative tools, and automation trends, translating those into practical product capabilities
Startup-Stage Execution & Culture
o Operate as both strategist and executor—contributing across planning, architecture, code, and delivery
o Embrace ambiguity, move quickly, and make decisions with imperfect information in pursuit of customer impact
o Build a team of technologists, designers, and product thinkers who care deeply about doing meaningful work
o Cultivate an environment where urgency and intentionality coexist with humility, trust, and autonomy
Company Leadership & Growth
o Serve as a key member of the executive team, helping shape company strategy, OKRs, and go-to-market priorities
o Drive technical and product decisions that support business growth, operational scale, and platform differentiation
o Represent Fynn externally with investors, partners, and prospective hires—helping us attract world-class talent to an industry undergoing meaningful change and ripe for innovation
o Be a visible champion of our mission to reimagine senior care through software—making this work a magnet for ambitious, purpose-driven people
Qualifications
· Significant experience in software development, including full-stack engineering leadership—10+ years is a typical benchmark, but we value depth, impact, and initiative over tenure alone
· Proven success leading product development at a B2B SaaS company, ideally in healthcare
· Demonstrated ability to set product strategy and drive cross-functional execution
· Deep understanding of backend systems (Java/Spring Boot), frontend frameworks (Angular), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and hybrid mobile applications
· Track record of building and scaling agile, high-velocity teams
· Hands-on mindset with a bias toward action and ownership
· Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills across technical and non-technical audiences
· Passion for improving healthcare and quality of life for older adults
· Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or healthcare data interoperability
· Background in predictive analytics, ML/AI applications in care, or health outcome tracking
· Experience with microservices, containerization, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
Why This Role Matters
Fynn is building the technology backbone for a better model of senior care—one that’s proactive, personalized, and data-driven. This role is an opportunity to lead that transformation from the ground up. You’ll define the product vision, guide technical execution, and play a central role in shaping how care is delivered across an entire industry.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on building real software for real users, who moves quickly without cutting corners, and who wants their work to matter. If you're excited to lead both product and engineering in a fast-moving startup with a clear mission and real traction—this is the opportunity.
