Seven Seas Roasting Co. Mobil Unit is looking for one coffee truck barista to join our strong team. Mobil Unit is a mobile coffee truck providing friendly and quick coffee at farmers’ markets, businesses, schools, private caterings and events located throughout San Diego County.

Position Summary

The Coffee Truck Barista is the first face that our customers see, and because of this we are searching for a professional, kind and energetic personality. The ideal candidate has a constant smile, anticipates the customers’ needs, listens well, has a great memory, is passionate about coffee and the food truck industry and enjoys working in high pace environment.

The Coffee Truck Barista is responsible for driving to and from customer locations, restocking and organizing, and thoroughly cleaning the truck each day. On location the Coffee Truck Barista serves by educating customers on different drinks, promotes products, prepares and serves a wide variety of beverages while offering a customer experience that is the best the customer has ever received.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepares the coffee truck including turning on and warming up machines, placing products, brewing coffee, and driving/parking at designated locations.
• Performs safe driving from one location to the next, following all traffic laws and being a courteous and thoughtful driver at all times.
• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions and suggesting products that may appeal to them.
• Prepares beverages to customer expectations.
• Adheres to prescribed recipes.
• Receives and processes customer payments via cash, credit card, familiar with Square.
• Valid food handlers card is required.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing all supplies.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; and following appropriate cleaning methods. Reports any issues immediately to a supervisor.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following both organization and health department standards for safe food handling and sanitation regulations.
• Cleans coffee truck throughout shift and thoroughly at closing time, including washing and sanitizing, cleaning machines as per proper cleaning instructions, taking out garbage and preparing truck for the next day, always leaving it cleaner than you found it.
• Contributes to a positive culture and opinion of the business in all customer interactions.

 Schedule

This position is part-time or full-time with shift times that vary. Schedule depends upon business needs and will be determined 2 weeks in advance. Employees must be available to work on the weekends, and must be flexible with schedule changes in accordance with changes to business needs, 15 - 20 hours a week commitment.

Compensation

17.25 per hour+ tips (+$9/hour)

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High School Diploma or GED graduate preferred
• 1 year or more of Barista experience
• Ability to handle stress under pressure
• Ability to provide quality customer service
• Ability to learn and use technical equipment (e.g. espresso machine)
• Ability to accurately exchange currency with the customers
• Ability to reconcile all cash and currency
• Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
• Ability to learn and use company computer to input data
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision

Tasting and smelling abilities are required occasionally to distinguish with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and hot liquids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
