Overview:
We’re seeking a Footwear Color Designer to support a team undergoing a shift in workload. This position will collaborate closely with a partner team on related projects. Candidates must be fast-moving, adaptable to ambiguity, and committed to delivering high-quality product work across Men’s and Women’s apparel and footwear.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design trend-relevant, narrative-driven footwear color concepts at both product and collection levels.
- Drive product excellence by aligning design vision with development and manufacturing.
- Use research and consumer insights to stay on the forefront of color trends, fashion, and sports culture.
- Establish color blocking strategies and contribute to cohesive color journeys.
- Review and refine samples, troubleshoot achievability issues, and ensure color accuracy through development.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Color Designers, Developers, and Product Line Managers.
- Create and present palettes that align with overall color strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience/training.
- 3–5 years of experience in a design role, ideally with focus on color, materials, textiles, or trend research.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Keynote on Mac.
- Strong knowledge of color application techniques and processes (materials, dyes, finishes).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Previous experience with sportswear, athletic, or performance brands is highly preferred (e.g., Adidas, Under Armour, Reebok, Hoka, On, Lululemon).
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and last-minute changes while maintaining design quality.
