Content Marketing Specialist .
Applications will be accepted until 09/17/2024. The Annual Giving team is looking for a creative and passionate copywriter to craft compelling content on behalf of our fundraising teams. In this role, you'll write solicitations and stewardship touchpoints, as well as mission-oriented student profiles and related news and human interest stories, to inspire action among thousands of Notre Dame alumni, parents, and friends around the world.
As a pivotal member of the team, you'll work closely with Annual Giving fundraisers and Giving Societies to guide their storytelling efforts, helping to develop their philanthropic vision while providing expert guidance on writing strategy. You should be ready to adapt your style and tone to align with the focuses of our Giving Societies and funds, such as Notre Dame Athletics, the law school, the business school, undergraduate financial aid, and unrestricted giving.
In addition, you'll engage partners across campus to develop leads on initiatives touched by philanthropic support and students serving as forces for good in the world; these subjects will fuel your writing for multichannel fundraising and stewardship campaigns. This role requires creativity, strong command of the written word, understanding of deadlines, and the ability to work with a team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Write compelling content for multichannel communications that drive engagement and prompt philanthropic action from our constituents.
- Adapt your writing style to fit various audiences, including alumni, donors, and special interest groups.
- Maintain a story bank of student profiles and impact points that demonstrate the importance of philanthropic support of Notre Dame.
- Maintain and adhere to University and Annual Giving editorial standards.
- Demonstrate understanding of the value of philanthropic giving and a strong commitment to the University's mission to be a force for good in a world deeply in need.
- Monitor newsworthy developments across campus and Notre Dame fundraising priorities.
- Follow industry best practices and conceive of compelling new angles on fundraising and stewardship.
- Assist with copy editing on behalf of teammates as requested.
- Think, read, and write creatively, challenge the status quo, and be your unabashed self.
- Leverage data-driven insight to improve content production and campaign performance.
- Publish multiple stories online each month that align with fundraising priorities.
- Coordinate the production of digital campaigns including the input of materials to the Content Management System (CMS) and email platform.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree
- Exceptional writing skills: Proven ability to write persuasive and engaging copy for a variety of voices, as well as a knack for storytelling that resonates with key audiences
- Attention to detail: Strong proofreading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and clarity in all communications
- Experience: 2-3 years in journalism, copywriting, or storytelling, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written content
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications: - Higher education fundraising experience
