Job Summary: The Council Retail Manager leads the day-to-day operations and performance of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas retail shops across multiple locations, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth store operations, and alignment with Girl Scouts’ mission and merchandising standards. This role is responsible for supervising and scheduling a team of primarily part-time brand ambassadors across five store locations — Southern Dallas, North Dallas, Flower Mound, Tyler, and Sumner, TX — and ensuring the success of each shop through effective team leadership, operational oversight, and collaboration with the General Manager of Retail Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. People and Team Management

a. Recruit, train, supervise, and develop part-time brand ambassadors across all store locations.

b. Create and manage store schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and coverage across all five retail shops.

c. Foster a positive, mission-aligned workplace culture that emphasizes excellent customer service, teamwork, and Girl Scout values.

d. Conduct regular team meetings and individual check-ins to ensure communication, engagement, and professional development.

2. Store Operations Management

a. Oversee the daily operations of all Council retail shops, ensuring consistent and efficient execution of sales, merchandising, and customer service.

b. Ensure all stores maintain visual merchandising standards and comply with Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) branding and display guidelines.

c. Monitor inventory levels at each store, coordinate with the General Manager of Retail Operations on restocking needs, and ensure timely receipt and accurate handling of merchandise.

d. Ensure adherence to all operational policies and procedures, including cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) processes, and store security.

3. Customer Experience and Member Support

a. Ensure all stores provide a welcoming, helpful, and mission-focused shopping experience for Girl Scout members, volunteers, and families.

b. Resolve customer concerns and escalate complex issues as needed to the General Manager of Retail Operations.

c. Support Council events, pop-up shops, and special initiatives by coordinating staffing, merchandise preparation, and on-site sales operations as needed.

4. Performance and Reporting

a. Monitor and report on store sales, inventory, and performance metrics; provide regular updates to the General Manager of Retail Operations.

b. Ensure all stores meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales goals, customer satisfaction, and inventory management.

c. Identify operational challenges or opportunities and recommend solutions to improve store performance and customer engagement.

Other:

· Must work in-person at Headquarters 3 days per week and other shop locations 2 days per week

· This is not a remote or hybrid position.

· Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish and English).

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

· This role requires flexibility to travel regularly between multiple store locations (Southern Dallas, North Dallas, Flower Mound, Tyler, and Paris)

· Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid driver’s license and meet GSNETX driving record & automobile insurance requirements.

Job Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.

· Minimum three years of progressive retail experience, including at least one year of management experience (multi-site management experience a plus).

· Strong background in customer service, staff scheduling, inventory management, and point-of-sale operations.

· Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams across multiple locations.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office, and inventory management software.

· Commitment to the mission and values of Girl Scouts of the USA.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience managing retail operations in a nonprofit, membership-based, or mission-driven organization.

· Familiarity with Girl Scout programs, products, and community.
