Data Systems – SQL Development

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Overview

An established national nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced SQL development professional to support the design, development, and maintenance of SQL Server–based data systems. This role will work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable reporting, ETL processes, and performance-optimized database solutions using SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions.
• Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues related to query execution and data integrity.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing database systems while ensuring data security, reliability, and compliance.
• Develop and manage ETL processes to support data integration from multiple sources.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for database structures, workflows, and best practices.
• Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and schedules for assigned initiatives.
• Support additional data-related projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in SQL development.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS development.
• Demonstrated experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL methodologies.
• Familiarity with JavaScript required.
• Understanding of database security, backup, and recovery processes.
• Experience working in Microsoft SQL Server environments required.
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform, Raiser’s Edge NXT, and Infor Lawson preferred.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a timely and organized manner.
