Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to contribute to the development and deployment of next-generation network infrastructure. This role involves designing IP transport networks and supporting advanced wireless technologies such as 4G and 5G. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network design, fiber planning, and equipment configuration, along with excellent documentation and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement transport network solutions that support wireless infrastructure rollouts, including 5G.
• Create detailed circuit paths and configurations, including fiber assignments and port-level planning.
• Evaluate current network utilization and issue design modifications to ensure performance and scalability.
• Assign and manage IP addresses, and assist in resolving network-level issues related to routing and connectivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design alignment with broader infrastructure goals.
• Produce accurate network documentation, including diagrams, inventory updates, and database entries.
• Maintain project timelines and track capital expenditures against planned budgets.
• Validate router configurations and circuit paths during network build-outs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4+ years in a relevant role).
• Hands-on experience configuring and deploying IP network equipment, including routers and transport gear.
• Familiarity with wireless infrastructure equipment, especially 4G/5G technologies.
• Knowledge of fiber-optic transport solutions including CWDM, DWDM, dark fiber, and microwave links.
• Proficiency in using mapping and visualization tools such as GIS platforms and diagramming software.
• Experience maintaining accurate network records and inventory across design and project management systems.
