Job Summary: Performs the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care for the ICU department. Establishes, implements, and manages financial resources for the areas of responsibility. Promotes team efforts with physicians and other healthcare team personnel. Monitors and evaluates quality improvement specified for the ICU and associate outcomes. Maintains HIPAA standards and regulations.
Qualifications/Reporting:
Required minimum education: Graduate of a Professional Nursing School. Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.
Required minimum experience: Prior work experience: Two years as RN in Intensive Care Nursing. Supervisory experience preferred. Technical Training: Basic EKG, BLS, ACLS.
Required skills (if applicable): Demonstrated ability in nursing practice. Leadership and management abilities with effective oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of principles of Quality Improvement.
Required license/certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Preferred: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or PCCN and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
