Title: Director of Data Architecture and Governance

Location: San Antonio, TX - Full-time, On-site (Relocation Required)

Company Background:

Our client is a major fast-food company experiencing rapid growth across the United States. They are transforming their data landscape to support data-driven decision making and need a skilled Director of Data Architecture and Governance to build their data foundation from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Director of Data Architecture and Governance on behalf of our client to lead data quality, integrity, and compliance initiatives in a greenfield technical environment.

  • Manage data quality and integrity across all organizational data sources and systems
  • Own and implement comprehensive data governance processes and compliance frameworks
  • Ensure data cleanliness and establish robust data quality monitoring and remediation processes
  • Design and implement scalable data architecture solutions to support business growth
  • Manage small teams of data professionals and provide technical leadership
  • Focus on operations improvements, expanding to cover supply chain and human resources
  • Scale data governance and architecture across the entire organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and business needs
  • Establish data standards, policies, and procedures for enterprise-wide adoption
  • Lead compliance efforts to ensure data handling meets regulatory and industry requirements

Requirements

Experience & Background:

  • Minimum 8 years of data architecture and governance experience
  • Proven experience managing small teams of data professionals
  • Experience building data solutions in greenfield environments
  • QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) or restaurant industry experience preferred but not required

Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud platforms and services
  • Broad technical knowledge across multiple frameworks and technologies
  • Experience with data quality tools and data governance platforms
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and data privacy regulations

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proven track record of scaling data operations across multiple business functions
