Job Description

A leading food manufacturing company is recruiting for an EHS Manager to support their site in the Naperville Illinois Area.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing and continuously improving all aspects of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental programs.

The successful incumbent will be tasked with ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and minimizing the environmental impact of company operations.

The Role:

  • Design and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Create and update safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Monitor changes in HSE regulations and ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental and safety reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external HSE requirements.
  • Identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace and implement control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Manage the company’s emergency response plan and ensure readiness for potential emergencies.
  • Promote sustainable practices within the company, including waste reduction, resource conservation, and pollution prevention.
  • Oversee environmental impact assessments and implement measures to minimize the company’s environmental footprint.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety related field
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of Health and Safety experience; manufacturing environment is required
  • Ergonomics experience preferred
  • Incident investigation to root cause and creation of effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Experience in developing and delivering training
  • HSE Management Systems experience (ISO 14001 and 45001) preferred
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% within US
