Position: Entry-Level Mechanical Piping Designer – Remote

 C-P Systems is a well-established privately-held engineering consulting firm specializing in chemical engineering and design. With three decades of experience, we have cultivated strong partnerships with industrial manufacturing facilities including Fortune 500 companies. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and self-starting individual to join our design team. 

  Role Overview:

 We are seeking an entry-level Mechanical Piping Designer for a permanent position. This is an opportunity to learn and develop skills alongside our highly experienced team of piping designers and engineers. This position would prepare general arrangements, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, and 3D computer models. We primarily use AutoCAD, Navisworks, ReCap, Inventor (all from Autodesk), as well as SmartPlant P&ID and Smart 3D (both from Intergraph). Prior experience in any of this software is not necessary. Additionally, this position will work directly with our customers and vendors to create mechanical packages suitable for construction and field verify results as necessary.

  Primary Responsibilities

 Generate P&ID’s and process flow diagrams (PFD’s) in AutoCAD and SmartPlant P&ID.

• 3D modeling of process equipment, instrumentation, and piping.
• Direct involvement with customers for design reviews (typically in Navisworks).
• <10% Travel to customer sites for field walkdowns, project reviews, startup, etc.
• Work with engineering team to help model processes with the end deliverable being a complete mechanical bid package for construction.

  Qualifications

 Completed or working towards associates degree in CAD technology or similar

• 0-5 years of relevant experience
• Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• US Citizenship (required by some of our customers)
