We are looking for an entry level water / wastewater engineer to join us to assist in executing planned projects and support field engineering activities in Knoxville, TN.
Each day you will be an important team member as you collaborate in multi-discipline team environment in the evaluation, design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. Our team is committed to strong mentorship and providing opportunities to work independently and with peers. The candidate should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project in our diverse and fast-paced office. Candidate skills should include good oral and written communications, strong data analysis & technical problem solving, strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, excellent computer skills and team-oriented work practices.
Our entry level engineers will:
Work under the supervision of senior level engineers.
Work on multi-discipline teams to deliver world class projects.
Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations.
Assist in the preparation of plans and specification, engineering reports, engineer’s cost estimates, and quantity take-offs.
Observe and document field and construction activities primarily related to water and sewer pipeline and facility infrastructure as a field engineer, as required.
Perform civil design tasks related to:
Site development and layout
Stormwater and drainage
Roadway and pavement
Grading
Erosion and sediment control
Site/facilities layout
Utilities and conveyance piping
Assist in performing design using CADD tools such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations and details.
Complete tasks assigned on time, within budget, and to a high level of quality.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, and all stakeholders to ensure overall success of the projects.
Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.
Ability to participate in and lead tasks.
Drive health and safety in all aspects of project execution including field, office and personal environments.
Possess high ethical values and strong sense of commitment to self-development, teamwork, and desire to work in a deadline driven team environment.
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited program.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or on track to obtain one
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ideally, here’s what you will also have:
Masters of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
1-2 years of progressive experience of water and wastewater projects
Familiarity with the use of CADD tools, such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD
