Role

The purpose of the QA Supervisor is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the quality department to enhance customer satisfaction, minimize risks and support the company’s overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee QA Techs and Leads, provide leadership, training and guidance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations, including but not limited to GMP and SQF
  • Develop training programs for production floor staff
  • Lead the ERP program for all QA needs, including hold and release
  • Oversight of root cause investigations for food safety and/or quality-related issues
  • Help resolve and document customer complaints
  • Monitor and maintain environmental programs, corrective actions, trending analysis and monitor food safety logs and testing
  • perform pre-op inspections and be liaison for 3rd party sanitation
  • Collaborates across functions to ensure implementation of new or changes processes
  • Evaluate facility compliance with regards to food safety requirements
  • Prepare for and participate in audits. Gather and present information as needed

Education & Training Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a food science or related field preferred

Work Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in quality/food processing industry
  • Knowledge of SSOP, GMP, HACCP, SQF
  • USDA Experience a plus
  • familiar with proper sanitation and environmental monitoring procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull, and stand for up to 10 hours a day
  • Lifting requirements are 25lb regularly and up to 50lb occasionally
  • Exposure to variation in temperature
  • Working with uncooked, cooked, frozen products
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Some travel required
    • Between SF Plants is required on a regular basis
    • May require some out-of-town travel to visit co-man/vendors
