Job Description

Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in their search for a General Counsel. The ideal candidate will have significant 1st chair litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions in court, and representing the company at trial and hearings, with minimal reliance on outside counsel. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have practiced as a GC previously for 1+ years and be able to manage organization's legal matters as well as advise executive/senior management/board on matters and promulgate and create directives of corporate acts and decisions.

A strong background in environmental law, including experience managing compliance with state, local, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, state DEQs), and representing the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, audits, enforcement actions, and permitting processes is highly preferred.

Required Experience:

• Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school.
• 4+ years of legal practice with an established law firm, complemented by in-house corporate experience advising on complex legal, regulatory, and business matters.
• Litigation experience including, drafting pleadings, motions and managing discovery, arguing motions in court.
• Experience with corporate governance issues and corporate secretarial duties.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to businesses.
• Proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute enterprise risk management strategies that align with and support overarching business goals and corporate objectives.
