At Shaw Bakers, the Inside Sales Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating inside sales operations, supporting strategic sales initiatives, and managing key customer accounts. This role will play a pivotal part in driving revenue growth by optimizing sales processes, ensuring exceptional customer support, and managing cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with Costco, or other retailers and food service operators in a sales or account management capacity and a strong background in the CPG food industry. This role requires a detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive leader who excels in sales coordination, data analytics, and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Inside Sales & Account Management Support
• Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, ensuring seamless execution of sales strategies
• Oversee and manage Costco-related sales operations, including item setup, promotional programs, and compliance documentation. Same responsibilities for other large accounts.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively identifying opportunities for account growth
• Coordinate customer communication, sample requests, and order fulfillment in collaboration with internal teams.
• Support the sales team in meeting preparation, including sales presentations, pricing analysis, and reporting
• Work with finance to ensure proper setup and compliance for new accounts
• Act as a backup for the Customer Success Coordinator in processing orders when necessary
• Serve as a primary point of contact for consumer inquiries and communication
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, feedback, and resolutions
• Provide insights and recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
Costco-Specific Sales Strategy & Execution
• Track and report on Costco sales performance, providing weekly insights on active items across multiple departments
• Stay up to date on Costco category resets, item submissions, and promotional programs to optimize sales performance
• Coordinate Costco Road Shows -when happening-, managing logistics, booth setup, and sample distribution in partnership with marketing
Similar tasks are also expected for other key accounts
Sales Operations & Project Management
• Develop and implement inside sales processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency
• Act as a liaison between sales, marketing, operations, and finance to drive alignment and efficiency
• Utilize project management tools to track, manage, and report on sales initiatives
• Organize and attend industry events, including food trade shows and Costco road shows, ensuring successful execution
Reporting, Analytics & Forecasting
• Work with finance to reconcile customer deductions, credit requests, and promotional spend tracking
• Maintain sales forecasting system to improve decision-making
Leadership & Strategic Planning
• Contribute to the development of the company’s sales strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize sales operations and customer service
Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inside sales, account management, or sales operations in the CPG food industry is required
• Direct experience working with Costco is required
• Strong knowledge of Costco sales processes, promotional programs, and vendor compliance requirements
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Excel, CRM systems, and project management tools
• Exceptional communication and customer relationship management skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and drive strategic decisions
• Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams
