Job Description

Join our small and mighty team as we transform residential and commercial spaces into elevated, luxury interiors in Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas!

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, skilled Installer to join our team! As a key player in our mission, you’ll be responsible for installing custom window treatments (blinds, shades, shutters) that bring our clients' visions to life. Your craftsmanship will be essential in delivering the quality and beauty we’re known for.

A Day in the Life:

  • Drive to the warehouse in Alexandria and prep for a day of installs. 
  • Engage in in-home installation consultations for our local clients in Washington, D.C. and surrounding local areas, such as Germantown, Petersburg, Potomac, and Bethesda.
  • Maintain excellent customer service with a primary focus on the job at hand. 
  • Engage in active, efficient troubleshooting and problem solving. 
  • Leave each space looking better than it was when you arrived! 
  • End each day at the warehouse, in preparation for the next. 

Our Offer:

  • Competitive hourly compensation: $22-26/hour, experience-dependent.

  • Mileage Reimbursement available for travel to install appointments.
  • Paid training in a lucrative niche of the interior design industry.
  • Monday-Friday, 9-6 , with an hour break for lunch. Occasional flexibility needed for Saturday appointments. 
  • PTO: Accrual-based in year 1. After year 1: 1 week. In year 2: 2 weeks/year. In year 3: 3 weeks/year.
  • Holidays: 6 paid holidays/year, starting in year 1.

Our Ideal Candidates Have:

  • Previous experience in window treatment installation, carpentry, or a related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship: Ability to accurately measure within 1/8 inch with manual and laser measurers. 
  • Experience with hand and power tools such as drills, fasteners, anchors and concrete drill bits.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. 
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 55 pounds and climb up and down ladders up to 26’ in height.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a great work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service and in-home service experience
  • Strong communications skills, spoken and written
  • The ability to work keenly on an independent and collaborative basis. 

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Accurately measure, assemble, and install blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery in both residential and commercial settings. 
  • Review and verify orders to ensure accuracy in measurements, mounting style, fabric selection, control type, and control side. 
  • Act as a second set of eyes on all orders placed through vendor websites to minimize errors and ensure smooth installations.
  • Engage in repairs whenever necessary. 
  • Problem-solve all installations onsite, including motorized installations and mechanical malfunctions, demonstrating sound, independent judgment. 
  • Complete each install within one visit, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and precision and demonstrating product use before departure. 
  • Communicate effectively with clients, answering any questions about the installation process, providing them with white glove service throughout each measure and install. 
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Pre-inspect products at the warehouse to minimize issues and delays at installation.
  • Coordinate with admin, sales team, and vendors to resolve any install follow-up issues.
