Job Description

Laboratory Supervisors are an essential part of laboratory operations and regulatory compliance. This individual will oversee the daily operations of the lab, supervise and direct staff, ensure policies/procedures are followed/adhered too, and play an integral role in the coordination, monitoring, maintenance and growth of the department.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage projects, workload assignments, and timely completion by group.
• Plan and coordinate the daily operational activities for employees.
• Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities of the laboratory.
• Responsible for quality and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Plans and maintains sufficient resources to accomplish group tasks.
• Takes ownership to lead and develop the team.
• Supervises, trains, mentors, and develops assigned staff.
• Ensures adherence to SOPs, regulations, guidelines, practices, and policies.
• Coordinates, monitors, maintains, and improves productivity goals.
• Reviews quality controls of records, equipment and staff, and performs quality control assurance daily.
• Assists with responding to incidents and writing SOPs.
• Reviews maintenance and quality control records to comply with regulators, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required.
• Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, preferred.
• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.
