Job Summary – (Role Summary) - Bilingual (English + Chinese/Mandarin)
This position will coordinate local (US and Canada) and global shipments, ensuring all required documentation is in place and all activities are efficiently and timely managed. Additionally, the role will manage transportation cost and efficiency to meet customer expectations. He/She will utilize his/her strong operational competencies, customer support experience, and project management skills to drive operational excellence and ensure timely shipments of the Client's products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily brokerage activities on all shipments and manage the full cycle of inbound and outbound logistics processes, including record-keeping and ensuring timely clearance of shipments for both import and export handling.
- Manage import/export data and documentation, with a focus on compliance with U.S. and Canadian customs regulations. Ensure smooth operations by collaborating with customs brokers and understanding import/export procedures, including bonds.
- Monitor and coordinate incoming shipments from Asia factories, ensuring they clear customs and are delivered to 3PL warehouses on time.
- Manage outbound orders and collaborate with various departments facilitate smooth import and export operations.
- Own all aspects of partner management, including working with Americas 3PLs, customs brokers, and other logistics partners. Ensure performance meets service level expectations and contractual obligations.
- Negotiate service contracts with carriers and brokers to optimize logistics operations.
- Review partner invoices, recommend payments, drive partner cycle counts, resolve inventory variances, and ensure operational and customer service issues are addressed promptly.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues to streamline end-to-end logistics workflows across functions and business partners. Provide data, insights, and recommendations to support key decision-making related to operational capability and efficiency, including partner selection, automation evaluation, quality control, and cost management.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipments for regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to customs best practices, review and validate entry declarations for accuracy, duty mitigation, valuation, and preferential treatment and participate in import/export compliance reviews to ensure broker accountability and compliance with regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and ensure adherence to established procedures, provide subject matter expertise in logistics and offer back-up support to other operational areas as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required to support overall logistics and operations.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead logistics and service contract negotiations, securing favorable terms to enhance financial performance.

- Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement strategies that align with business goals, optimizing logistics for both short-term and long-term needs.
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee logistics projects from planning to execution, ensuring successful delivery.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with leadership teams and present data-driven proposals to support decision-making.
- Problem Solving & Improvement: Resolve complex logistics challenges and continuously seek process improvements to boost efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience Requirement:
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canada Customs regulations; U.S. Customs Broker License preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years’ experience in US import.
- Experience in B2B and B2C order fulfillment preferred.
- 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple business areas.
- Experience with all shipping functions, both foreign and domestic, including domestic air bills, international commercial invoices, and letters of instruction.
- Experience with Hazmat/Dangerous Goods handling.
- Proficiency in data analysis using MS Excel.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is required.
- Knowledge of the U.S. transportation market, B2B trucking platforms, and pricing, as well as experience with the U.S. courier networks like UPS & FedEx, including pricing structures.
