Logistics Analyst / Transportation Analyst (Hybrid)

Location: Cranbury, NJ (Hybrid – 35 Broadway Rd.)

Duration: 2-year contract (strong possibility of conversion to FTE)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Logistics / Transportation Analyst to support transportation operations and analytics across a complex distribution network. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders, carriers, and service providers to drive performance measurement, cost optimization, and service excellence across the physical flow of products.

The analyst will act as a process owner for transportation analytics , delivering insights related to cost, service, volume, and network performance while supporting strategic initiatives such as sourcing, RFPs, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Optimization

• Analyze carrier, vendor, and customer performance against service and cost targets
• Conduct end-to-end transportation cost analysis and identify optimization opportunities
• Support carrier sourcing, RFPs, and contractual negotiations through data-driven insights
• Evaluate freight flows to reduce costs and improve transit times and delivery performance
• Support network design and lane coverage analysis

Reporting & Insights

• Produce routine and ad-hoc transportation performance reports
• Develop executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting
• Interpret and present key performance indicators and trends to leadership
• Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly service performance reviews

Process Ownership & Collaboration

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with carriers and logistics service providers
• Lead carrier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Own transportation data collection, analysis, and implementation support
• Identify service gaps and support provider selection aligned with cost and service goals
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support transportation strategy and execution

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with understanding of transportation and supply chain processes
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills; data visualization experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented, customer-focused, and proactive mindset
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and business needs

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations preferred)
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics
• Retail or CPG transportation experience strongly preferred
• Carrier or multi-site operations experience a plus
• Prior experience in a customer service–driven environment preferred
