Lot Attendant

$20-$25/hour depending on experience.

The "lot attendant" at the truck dealership is responsible for organizing and maintaining the appearance of the truck inventory on the lot, including parking vehicles, checking for damage, moving vehicles between areas as needed, and ensuring all vehicles are properly accounted for and secured, while also assisting with the preparation of vehicles for customer delivery; essentially acting as the primary caretaker of the truck lot to support sales operations. In addition, this position will pick up and deliver parts as needed for service customers, keep the dealership location clean of all debris and trash as well as performing other duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities of a lot attendant at the truck dealership:

• Vehicle placement and organization:

Park and arrange new and used trucks on the lot in a designated manner, ensuring proper spacing and visibility for potential customers.

• Inventory management:

Accurately record incoming truck deliveries, verifying vehicle details and condition against paperwork.

• Vehicle inspection:

Regularly check trucks for any damage, noting any issues and reporting them to the appropriate department.

• Cleaning and maintenance:

Maintain the cleanliness of the truck lot, including removing debris and trash.

• Vehicle movement:

Transport trucks between the lot, service department, and delivery areas as needed.

• Key management:

Securely store and track truck keys.

• Customer support:

Assist sales staff by providing information about available trucks to potential customers when necessary.

Pick up and Delivery of parts for service department customers

• Preparation for sale

Perform basic cleaning and detailing on trucks to present them in the best possible condition for sale.

• Yard / Facility Maintenance - keep yard and facility free of debris and trash, both outside and inside as assigned

Required skills and qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to operate large vehicles safely and confidently
• Strong organizational skills to maintain a neat and efficient lot
• Attention to detail to identify any vehicle damage
• Physical ability to move around the lot and maneuver vehicles
• Basic understanding of truck features and specifications
• HS Diploma
