Maintenance Manager:
Our client is seeking a proactive and results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is critical to driving equipment reliability, continuous improvement initiatives, and team development while upholding the highest standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.
This role is onsite in Vancouver, Washington.
Maintenance Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency.
- Oversee a team of maintenance technicians and a sanitation supervisor, providing coaching, performance management, and mentorship.
- Partner with external vendors to coordinate maintenance schedules, inspections, and timely servicing of equipment and systems.
- Monitor compliance with safety programs, sanitation protocols, and GMPs, making improvements as needed to align with plant and regulatory standards.
- Leverage data and visual performance tools to identify and address operational inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure maintenance activities are properly documented and tracked.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve equipment and process challenges, enhancing plant reliability and changeover performance.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and training efforts for maintenance team members, ensuring alignment with organizational values and expectations.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Maintenance Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in engineering, operations, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations or maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably food production.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining production equipment; PLC knowledge preferred.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies strongly preferred.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite; CMMS experience required.
- Ability to prioritize and manage critical tasks under pressure, including occasional off-shift or weekend support.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and team leadership skills.
- Certification in Ammonia Systems (RETA CIRO) and bilingual fluency in English/Spanish are desirable but not required.
