Job Description

In keeping with the mission and values of Big Thunder Marine, and the pledge to maintain our presence as the premier watercraft dealer at the Lake of the Ozarks, the Marina Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the marina, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role involves, maintaining facilities, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring environmental compliance.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of marina infrastructure, including docks, utilities, and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to marina patrons. Address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience for all visitors. Maintain billing and also contracts
  • Operations Management: Coordinate day-to-day operations, including boat docking, fueling, and storage. Monitor and manage marina traffic to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and best practices. Promote sustainable practices within the marina.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and maximize revenue generation opportunities.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Promote the marina to potential customers. Organize events and activities to attract visitors and enhance the marina's reputation.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans. Ensure staff are trained to handle emergencies effectively.

Skills and Abilities:

Education: High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marine Management, or a related field.

Experience: Experience in marina operations or a related area. Strong management and customer service skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of marine equipment and maintenance procedures. Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively. Able to plan and conduct marketing and promotional activities

Computer Skills:  Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google docs. Experience with CRM, online rental and related systems: DockMaster experience is valued

C ertifications & Licenses: Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Class E drivers and MO boater’s license

Physical: Prolonged periods sitting or standing and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Full-time position, may require working weekends and holidays. Outdoor environment, subject to weather conditions. Physical activities include lifting, walking, and climbing

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Typical office environment with moderate noise level when working indoors. Outdoor and marine environment may contain uneven and slippery surfaces. Noise level may increase substantially upon interaction with watercraft.
