The Montefiore Wellness Center Division of Substance Abuse is the largest medical school affiliated treatment program in the United States. Our program provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment along with on-site medical and psychiatric healthcare for over 4,000 patients.
We are seeking a Board Certified Addiction Psychiatrist to join our team and serve as the Medical Director of our Next Steps Outpatient Addiction treatment program, and as program Psychiatrist in our Melrose Opioid Treatment Program. The Montefiore Wellness Centers are a large, University affiliated, substance abuse treatment program in the Bronx, NY. Each center provides substance abuse treatment and psychiatric services as well as on-site primary medical care, including HIV and Hepatitis C care. The program has a well-established and long-standing affiliation with the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Medicine and Family Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center. The position includes leading weekly interdisciplinary case conferences, providing evaluation and ongoing psychiatric care, and participation in quality improvement activities, with opportunities for teaching of medical students and house staff as well as collaboration in research. Colleagues include an outstanding group of primary care internists, family physicians, social workers and counselors dedicated to providing high quality care to an underserved, urban patient population. Board Certified and NYS license required. Suboxone waiver is required. Full benefit package including malpractice coverage, health insurance, life insurance, retirement contribution and faculty appointment commensurate with qualifications at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. This position is also eligible for Loan Repayment through the National Health Service Corps ( Score of 18). EOE.
