Job Overview

The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is recruiting a Medical Director for our Addiction Sciences division, at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. The final rank and title of the appointment will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. Candidates with experience in clinical research are encouraged to apply.

 

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is dedicated to high quality medical student and resident education, excellence in patient care, and advancing the science in psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research.

Essential Functions

  • Oversight of the clinical operations of our Addiction Sciences division, including an opioid treatment program, intensive outpatient program, inpatient consultations, and other addiction-focused clinical services through our UC Health facilities.
  • Direct supervision of physicians involved in addiction clinical services.
  • Supervisory support for psychology, nursing, pharmacy, and counseling services within the Addiction Sciences division.
  • Direct patient care in the outpatient and inpatient setting at UC Health facilities and/or other local health care systems.
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Conducting clinical research at various University of Cincinnati and UC Health facilities, hospitals, and other local health care systems.
  • Participation in quality improvement, peer supervision, and formal mentorship activities within the Addiction Sciences division as well as through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience.

Minimum Requirements

Prior to the time of appointment, must have obtained:

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Ohio Medical License.
  • Completion of a 4-year Psychiatry Residency, and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Completion of an Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry fellowship, and Board Certified/Board Eligible.
