The Department of Neurological Surgery at UW Medicine seeks candidates for a full-time appointment and is a Open rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding) in the clinician-educator pathway. The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
The applicant's primary duties include clinical responsibilities at Seattle Children's Hospital as a pediatric neurosurgeon, as well as teaching residents, fellows, and medical students. As part of their appointment, the individual will be a faculty member of the University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Neurological Surgery.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $47,307 - $55,402 per month ($567,684 to $664,824 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $58,632 - $65,266 per month ($703,584 to $783,192 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.
