Packaging Design Manager -Food Manufacturing

The Packaging Design Manager supports the development and execution of brand design packaging solutions that protect and enhance brand equity. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and external design agencies to ensure

packaging designs align with brand standards and meet commercialization requirements. The Manager contributes to the design process by coordinating visual assets, supporting innovation projects with conceptual imagery, and ensuring

packaging accuracy and consistency across commerce channels. This position also assists in guiding and developing team members within the Brand Design Team, helping to deliver effective and compliant packaging solutions. The Manager may

lead select design initiatives and provide support on more complex projects under the direction of senior leadership.

Major End Results (Primary Duties):

• Supports the development of annual packaging plans and contributes to design system improvements and operating practices.
• Builds collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to coordinate design activities effectively.
• Assists in prioritizing design initiatives across brands and channels and helps assess resourcing needs.
• Contributes to design strategy by supporting visual language development and assisting in the creation of creative briefs.
• Manages day-to-day agency interactions to support successful design execution.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to team members to help meet design and organizational objectives.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts related to design and commercialization processes.
• Leads assigned innovation design projects and supports broader innovation efforts as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position is responsible for developing, training, and leading a direct team of packaging coordinators, designers, and managers. This position also indirectly manages outside agencies, external partners, suppliers, and

vendors. This position also coordinates with internal cross-functional teams (included, but not limited to: Marketing, Innovation, Consumer Insights, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, QC/Regulatory, Trade Marketing, and Finance to deliver innovation and packaging solutions consistent with brand equities or brand creation.

Qualifications :

• Education: BA/BS Degree required. Spanish language skills a plus.
• 10+ years of packaging experience, preferably with a food or beverage company in the consumer-packaged goods industry
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of the food industry
• Broad knowledge of product development concepts and processes
• Successful track record of managing agencies to develop packaging graphics
• Strong knowledge of the printing process
• Demonstrated experience of managing a large number of skus in development at one time
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and evaluation skills
• Outstanding project management skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications and oral presentation skills
• Highly effective ability to collaborate, negotiate, influence, and network with a wide range of diverse groups, including senior leadership, management, external customers, vendors
• Able to thrive within a multi-project, cross functional environment
• Highly organized, self-starter with the ability to manage projects with limited oversight

Education and/or Experience: B.A. , 10+ years in Consumer-Packaged goods packaging management, preferably in the food space.

Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Mathematical Skills: Basic forecasting, costing and P&L skills.
