Shift: 2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic to join our Hauppauge, NY, manufacturing facility. In this role, you will perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment in a pharmaceutical production environment .
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems , thrives in a fast-paced GMP-regulated setting, and is committed to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform equipment installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on packaging machinery.
- Quickly resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct changeovers and set up equipment for production runs.
- Accurately document maintenance activities in compliance with cGMP and GDP .
- Ensure proper use of lockout/tagout and all safety protocols.
- Collect and track spare parts; recommend equipment improvements.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide immediate feedback on unsafe equipment or working conditions.
- Collaborate with mechanics, supervisors, and operators to maximize productivity.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2–4 years of packaging mechanic experience (pharmaceutical/nutraceutical preferred).
- Knowledge of cGMP, safety, and documentation practices .
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot multiple systems.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, ERP systems).
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant experience must be within the last 2 years .
