You will need to respond to the supplemental questions and attach a resume. Position Summary: Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is seeking a skilled planning professional to join our team. As a Parks Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Portland's parks and recreation system by leading a variety of planning initiatives. You will be responsible for projects that span policy development, master planning, feasibility studies, trail planning, acquisitions, and long-range plan development. In this position, you will support the Bureau's mission of promoting inclusion and diversity, particularly through community engagement and outreach to Portland's diverse communities. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a general knowledge of parks and trails planning, and the ability to work collaboratively across City departments. You will represent PP&R in city-wide and regional planning efforts and be a key player in the integration of park proposals into broader urban planning frameworks. This position may also involve assisting with PP&R's Capital Improvement Plan, strategic planning efforts, and the preparation of grant applications. Support environmental and inclusion goals within PP&R by integrating sustainability and equity principles into all planning efforts. Represent PP&R in city-wide and regional planning efforts, and provide expert advice on park use, land use, and planning issues. Assist with strategic planning, capital improvement plans, and the preparation of grants to support park development.
