PLC Programmer – Siemens Automation Expert (Lakeland, FL)

Our client is a nationally known manufacturer, expanding rapidly and investing heavily in state-of-the-art automation. This facility is run end-to-end by Siemens PLC systems—and they’re looking for a true controls specialist who can handle everything from high-level logic development to troubleshooting I/O miscommunication mid-shift.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Program, edit, and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs across the entire production line—from raw material handling to finished product packaging.
• Own the automation floor—diagnosing miscommunications between PLCs, field devices, HMIs, and instrumentation.
• Step into real-time production challenges, read logic flows, and make calibrated corrections that keep production moving.
• Collaborate directly with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to reduce downtime and improve automation reliability.
• Interpret and modify electrical and control schematics to assist in system upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment integration.
• Maintain documentation of changes, logic revisions, and system configurations.
• Support continuous improvement projects by identifying opportunities for automation optimization and increased throughput.
What You Bring to the Table:
• 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting—Siemens S7/TIA Portal experience is a must.
• Proven ability to dig into code, interpret complex logic, and identify root causes of system failures or performance issues.
• Strong grasp of automation architecture, sensors, servos, VFDs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Ability to remain cool under pressure and pivot quickly in high-speed manufacturing environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset—this is a cross-functional role with plant-wide impact.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety and documentation standards.
Compensation & Perks:
• Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour (Based on Experience)
• Shift Schedule: 2-2-3 (12-hour shifts – every other weekend is a 3-day weekend)
