Position Summary:

To properly perform all powder-coating related activities in accordance with the quality standards established by the company to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Essential Functions

• Working in a team environment, perform a variety of duties such as masking, loading, unloading, grinding and sanding, masking and unmasking metal parts.
• Assists in cleaning out washers and ovens, in removing hang-ups of parts and in scheduled paint system clean-ups.
• May sort parts to strip and repaint, salvage or scrap, and place parts in proper storage location.
• Transport boxes and pallets of powder.
• Assist color change-out on powder booths.
• Perform quality and safety inspections on all parts, orders, and equipment.
• Plugging holes and/or capping hardware.
• Repetitive fine dexterous detail work
• Promote and adhere to all company policies,  guidelines.

Additional Duties

• Cross training to provide back up in other functional departments of the  plant.
• Other duties as assigned by  management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Dependable, flexible, and ability to work in a team  environment.
• Experienced both in general and technical knowledge to run a semi-automated powder coating line  preferred.
• Experience in maintaining multi-stage pretreatment equipment, spray booths, ovens, and using manual powder gun applicators  preferred.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts  preferred.
• Ability to work in a results driving  environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in high production, fast paced paint environment and experience in automated paint lines  preferred.
• Good attention to detail and excellent hand/eye coordination

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Constant visual awareness is necessary due to moving parts.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds for extended period of time and 75 pounds  occasionally.
