Job Title: Sr. Process Improvement Consultant - Procurement

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Duration: 4+ months with possible extension

Pay range: $68.00-70.00/hr on w2

Job Summary:

  • The Senior Process Improvement Consultant is a temporary assignment focused on auditing and analyzing existing procurement and financial processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Reporting to the Procurement Operations Lead with a dotted connection to Procurement’s Change Management Director, this role will leverage Lean Six Sigma methodologies and expertise in workflow tools to evaluate and document high-priority processes, addressing gaps and inefficiencies.
  • The resource will also create a prioritized inventory of gapped documents and processes for future work.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Process Review and Analysis
  • Conducts a comprehensive audit of procurement workflow and financial approval processes, identifying inefficiencies, approval redundancies, approval gaps, and bottlenecks.
  • Uses Lean Six Sigma methodologies to evaluate workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Provides tactical recommendations to leadership based on analysis of existing processes.
  • Workflow Design and Documentation
  • Develops clear, detailed workflows for high-priority processes using tools such as Microsoft Visio or similar platforms.
  • Creates critical documentation for the most significant process gaps identified during the assignment.
  • Establishes a framework for capturing and maintaining process documentation standards.
  • Gap Inventory and Prioritization
  • Builds an inventory of lower-priority gapped processes and documentation to enable future improvement efforts.
  • Prioritizes process gaps based on business impact, urgency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader project objectives and deliverables.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Reporting
  • Provides detailed reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and completed documentation.
  • Assists with ensuring junior members of the team understand the methodology and process.
  • Conducts knowledge transfer sessions with internal teams to ensure continuity after assignment completion.

Experience and educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in process improvement, procurement, or financial processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is required.
  • Proficiency in workflow tools such as Microsoft Visio or similar.
