Key Responsibilities:
The Product Line Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific product line within Hartzell Engine Tech. This role involves managing a team of operators, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. The supervisor serves as a critical link between management and the production floor, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
Key Expected Deliverables from the position:
Production Management:
• Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to meet established goals for quality, quantity, and timeline.
• Monitor production metrics and adjust resources as needed to optimize utilization, efficiency, and output.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to coordinate production schedules and resolve bottlenecks.
Team Leadership:
• Supervise and provide guidance to production team members, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.
• Address and resolve employee concerns in a fair and timely manner.
Quality Assurance:
• Ensure products meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address defects or deviations.
• Work closely with the Quality Control team to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
Safety and Compliance:
• Promote and enforce adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct safety training and ensure team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate and document incidents or near-misses, implementing preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
• Lead or participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement equipment upgrades or new technologies.
Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of production data, including shift reports, attendance, and performance metrics.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies for the product line.
• Participate in budget planning and cost control activities.
Requirements:Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
• Requires standing, walking, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
• May involve occasional travel for training or meetings.
