Organization Overview:
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is an economic development entity of the federal government and 13 state governments focusing on 423 counties across the Appalachian Region. ARC’s mission is to innovate, partner and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in Appalachia to help the Region achieve socioeconomic parity with the nation.
Position Summary:ARC seeks a highly organized and collaborative team player to join our Business and Workforce Investment (BWI) team as a Program Analyst to manage a grant portfolio of workforce development grants which includes the full grant lifecycle (e.g., reviews applications, monitors progress, issues amendments, and closes grants) including pre-and post-award activities; apply workforce development subject matter expertise in the review and management of grants and projects; coordinate, in concert with internal divisions and key stakeholders, the Workforce Opportunities for Rural Communities Initiative by providing project management expertise and overseeing technical assistance deliverables provided to ARC communities; participate in and develop strategic partnerships with a variety of organizations, including philanthropies, private organizations, leading non-profit policy and development organizations and others; and periodically engage in structuring and providing review for relevant research, in coordination with the Division of Research and Evaluation. This position reports to the Division Director.

ARC generally follows the General Schedule Salary Table of the Federal government. ARC’s grades denoted by “NF” are equivalent to the federal grade(s) on the GS chart. This position is a NF12 (DC locality) located in Washington, DC and requires three “in-person” days in the DC office.
