Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your career as a Project Manager? Astrix is partnering with a client in the sports nutrition manufacturing sector to identify a proactive, hands-on Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives and ensure the successful execution of key projects.

Type: Direct Hire

Location: Middlesex County, NJ (onsite role)

Rate: $130K - $160K

Duties:

  • Serve as a primary leader overseeing a portfolio of projects, ensuring timelines are met and resources are effectively allocated, with a clear understanding of how tasks interconnect throughout the commercialization of new products.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and Gantt charts, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and contingency plans across teams to drive timely execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups from project kickoff through product launch: Formulation, Marketing, Sales, Packaging, Operations, and Regulatory.
  • Establish project charters, schedules, and performance metrics; secure alignment from stakeholders; assess risks; implement mitigation strategies; and lead conflict resolution efforts.
  • Communicate updates effectively and consistently to all levels of the organization, tailoring the message to fit the audience.
  • Identify and articulate project-related questions to support fast, well-informed decision-making.
  • Oversee and maintain the Stage Gate process, ensuring project plans, test strategies, issues, and documentation are accurate and prepared for stakeholder reviews.
  • Champion each project as its advocate, proactively removing barriers and ensuring steady progress through the Stage Gate process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, ideally within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects with varying levels of scope and complexity and experience leading new product development from start to finish.
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to engage stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Track record of building effective relationships with leadership and cross-departmental teams.
  • Comfortable managing a heavy workload and meeting tight turnaround times.
