Job Description
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and seasoned Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team! In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our Quality Assurance function, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
**Your Role:**
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Manage consumer feedback to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
- Present monthly quality reports and improvement recommendations to senior management and co-manufacturing facilities.
- Evaluate co-manufacturer and supplier performance through a Quality Scorecard.
- Ensure all finished goods meet product specifications.
- Conduct audits for co-manufacturers, 3PLs, and suppliers.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality among co-manufacturers.
- Support third-party certifications (e.g., NonGMO, Gluten Free, Kosher).
- Assist the Customer Service team with inquiries and quality/food safety issues.
- Lead internal and external quality improvement initiatives, including process optimization and corrective actions.
- Support the Sales team with customer inquiries.
- Lead investigations into quality issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
- Ensure co-manufacturing facilities meet or exceed quality assurance standards.
- Conduct Product Shelf Life Studies and Co-man and Supplier Risk Assessments.
- Identify and mitigate potential sources of enterprise risk.
- Review food safety documentation during the onboarding of new suppliers and identify potential risks.
- Provide technical support to the New Product Development team.
- Oversee the Recall and Crisis Management Policy.
- Act as the FDA liaison.
**Your Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as food science, food safety, or quality management. An advanced technical degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.
- 5-10 years of experience in a food or beverage manufacturing facility as the head of quality.
- 5-10 years of experience in a corporate Quality Assurance role with experience in implementing processes and procedures, and conducting facility and supplier audits.
- A passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety Regulations & Standards (FDA, FSVP, GMP, FSMA, HACCP, GFSI).
- Experience with NonGMO Project Verification.
- FSPCA PCQI & FSVP certified.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% (Domestic & International).
