Qualifications

Who We Want (Requirements)

• Bachelor's or technical/associate degree in a related field, with five years of progressive experience in concrete construction, or a combination of education and experience totaling ten years.
• Familiarity with the specific requirements of concrete construction.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
• Working knowledge of ACI and ASTM standards related to concrete construction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in all aspects of construction and the ability to make difficult, substantiated judgments.
• Current certification as an ACI Concrete Quality Technical Manager is preferred but not required.

What We Expect (Essential Functions)

• Coordinate with the Project Manager/Site Manager to direct activities and manage the day-to-day quality control system and procedures from project start-up to completion.
• Oversee daily activities of the quality control program in accordance with the approved general or project-specific Quality Control Plan.
• Attend project pre-construction meetings to discuss the Quality Management System (QMS) Program and review lessons learned with subcontractors.
• Review submittals from subcontractors and vendors for discrepancies and coordination with project documents, providing recommendations.
• Train team members in the use of the quality control program and support question resolution.
• Coordinate the establishment of hold points and provide approval for releasing the next phase of work.
• Discuss quality management, project specifications, industry standards, lessons learned, and established hold points.
• Audit subcontractor and vendor quality plans before approval.
• Ensure the quality program provides fair and effective monitoring of the overall quality of the organization regularly and timely.
• Conduct jobsite inspections/audits to ensure quality controls are in place and report findings to the Project Team and Leadership.
• Perform quality control inspections of installations to ensure strict compliance and coordination with the contract.
• Inspect products, materials, and equipment as they arrive at the jobsite to ensure compliance with contract documents and approvals.
• Ensure manufacturer, fabricator, and installer qualifications are current and applicable based on the contract.
• Coordinate required sampling of work in a timely manner to prevent delays.
• Maintain jobsite test and inspection plans and logs, ensuring all documentation is current, including any changes to the work or design.
• Track construction deficiencies from identification through acceptable corrective action, coordinating with the Superintendent.
• Establish and manage the To-Do/Punch List process throughout completion in coordination with the Superintendent.
• Communicate the status of project quality-related items in customer meetings.
• Produce reports based on observations, metrics, and KPIs as required.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure quality objectives are met.
• This position has the authority to stop work if required due to quality-related matters.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
