Job Description

The Braid Lounge in Virginia Beach, VA is looking for one salon manager to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 309 Aragona Blvd Ste 110. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Management:

  • Oversee salon staff, including stylists, receptionists, and support personnel.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all salon employees, excluding braiders.
  • Create and distribute schedules for braiders to ensure adequate coverage during all operating hours.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for non-braiding staff, offering continuous coaching and professional development.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment to encourage team collaboration and high performance.

Customer Service:

  • Uphold high standards of service and professionalism to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships to promote repeat business and pre-bookings.
  • Ensuring that pre booking and retail targets are achieved. 

Inventory Oversight:

  • Supervise the inventory process managed by a dedicated inventory manager, ensuring proper stock levels of products and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to monitor and manage product availability and order fulfillment.

Marketing & Promotion:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the salon's services through various channels, including social media and local advertising.
  • Actively participate in creating promotional content by taking photos, recording videos, and assisting with social media posts.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure all daily financial transactions are accurately recorded and completed in a timely manner.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized salon environment.
  • Regularly check and maintain salon equipment, scheduling necessary maintenance to ensure everything is in good working condition.
  • Implement and enforce salon policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Salon Manager or in a similar managerial role in the beauty industry is preferred. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in salon management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A passion for the beauty industry and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Able to communicate in French is an added advantage.
