Job Description

General Summary:

This position provides strategic and tactical guidance to Quality Teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensures team conformance to policies and procedures.
2. Interacts with engineering, supply chain management and manufacturing production to drive quality initiatives and best practices to suppliers.
3. Assesses inspection requirements and assigns inspection projects and tasks to inspection personnel.
4. Oversees team management of corrective actions, quality improvement plan, and supplier visits.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. BA/BS degree in a technical field or other related field of study preferred
2. Quality Certification desirable, such as CQM, CQE or related
3. 5+ years’ experience in technical field
4. Previous verifiable experience as DAR/DMIR/ODAR/ODA-Unit Member in good standing
5. In-depth knowledge of FAA 14CFR Part 21 required preferred
6. In-depth understanding of AS9100 framework

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Manage area resources/OT
2. Oversee Corrective Actions
3. Effective communication of quality issues (external and cross-functional)
4. Oversee compliance
5. Provide decisions to Supplier Quality Assurance team for priority and resources
6. Manage supplier corrective actions/containment
7. Enforce quality system requirements (Supplier Requirements Manual)
8. Administration tasks for direct reports such as PPA, Time cards, etc
9. Higher level business decisions balancing risks and costs (cosmetics, conditional release, life limited parts)

Physical Requirements:

1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
3. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
4. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 15 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
5. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
