What You'll Do: Our Trust Officers work closely with clients and Edward Jones branch teams on a daily basis, with the myriad of their decisions around Trust administration providing a critical service for the firm. While this position is an individual contributor role, you will have informal leadership responsibilities, partnering with financial advisors, internal subject matter experts, and outside business professionals as you deliver an excellent client experience.
As a Trust Officer, you will:
- Review and interpret trust agreements and other estate planning documents for execution of the overall estate planning strategy while limiting fiduciary, regulatory and legal risk.
- Explain complex estate planning concepts, trust terms and legal concerns/requirements with beneficiaries and financial advisors.
- Identify issues and create solutions regarding complex and unique legal, tax, and logistical matters in a high-volume environment that is often time sensitive.
- Manage ongoing account administration, including evaluating discretionary requests, approving distributions, hosting annual review Zoom meetings, and completing required oversight reviews and reports.
- Understand and balance the needs of grantors and all current and future beneficiaries within a fiduciary framework.
*This position is known internally as a Trust Advisor I What Experience You Need: - Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of trust and estate administration, or related legal or financial services experience
- Working knowledge of trust administration principles, estate planning principles, taxes, and investment principles
- Skilled in written and verbal communication (especially in complex matters) and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills.
*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday. What Could Set You Apart: - 3-5 years of administration of special needs trusts
- Experience administering trust owned IRAs
- Industry designation(s) such as CTFA, CFP®, or a J.D.
- Demonstrated ability to balance compliance, legal, and business decisions
- Successfully working in a fast paced, cross-functional team-based environment
