Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

• If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
• If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

• Demonstrated experience in conducting Business Impact Analysis and Risk Analysis
• Demonstrated experience developing and conducting business unit recovery exercises, conducting structured reviews of exercise performance and tracking remedial action.
• Demonstrated experience using and administering planning software
• Functional with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management, and with internal and external business contacts; ability to exhibit and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Risk Management or other related field
• Two years of professional job-related work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education & Experience Preferred

• Associated Business Continuity Professional

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducts testing of business continuity practices and disaster recovery processes; maintains and updates plans; identifies critical business functions, acceptable application downtimes, financial loss due to unavailability, their recovery priorities, and interdependencies; recovers multiple computer platforms, networks, operating systems and/or applications; utilizes contingency planning software tools and business continuity methodology
• Participates in negotiations and activities with internal customers and vendors; formulates strategies, plans, policies, and procedures based on operational analyses to maximize current operations or to plan for large-scale operational changes; analyzes technology use in terms of manpower requirements, finding best mix in terms of short-term cost, service quality, and output requirements
• Communicates with various departments to ensure disaster preparedness best practices are followed; measures efficient performance of strategic projects and committee activities; maintains effective communication and reports benchmark results to committee members and senior management; acts as subject matter expert, ensuring that current trends are considered and/or incorporated into the established best practices
• Stays abreast of current trends and best practices for disaster preparedness, functional operations and technology changes; directs, maintains control of and appraises performance of all operational functions for the departments; participates in key management activities, division strategic projects and committees; maintains appropriate communication within area of responsibility
• Performs other duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $48,000 - $110,000.
