Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $18/hr+ DOE

Job Summary: Reporting to the Installation Supervisor, the Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods, materials, and equipment between Nuage Designs’ facilities and event venues, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. The Delivery Driver plays a key role in maintaining the company’s high standards of service and professionalism during transport. This position also requires compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

What You’ll Do :

• Deliver outstanding customer service by ensuring timely delivery, setup/installation, breakdown, and pickup, while working collaboratively with our team to execute events flawlessly
• Assist with the processing of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods, materials, and equipment between facilities and event locations
• Load and unload vehicles, ensuring that products are securely packed to avoid damage during transit
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to the designated destinations
• Drive defensively to ensure safety
• Ensure there is always enough gas to get ti the destination
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and mileage
• Conduct routine checks on company vehicles, reporting any issues or necessary maintenance to the supervisor
• Follow all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation
• Communicate effectively with the logistics and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
• Assist with general warehouse duties when not driving, such as loading/unloading, picking, and packing orders
• Drive various-sized vehicles, including cargo vans and 26’ box trucks (non-CDL), to complete deliveries and pickups
• Represent Nuage Designs in a professional manner

What You’ll Need :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, CDL is a plus
• 1-2 years of experience as a delivery driver, preferably in logistics or transportation
• Must be 21 years of age
• Ability to read and interpret delivery instructions, maps, and safety documents

• Good communication skills for interacting with team members and clients

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Basic math skills to calculate delivery times, fuel usage, and quantities of items delivered
• Strong problem-solving skills for handling unexpected situations during deliveries
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps, GPS systems, and company software for recording delivery details and updating service information
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols
• Adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) procedures
• Familiarity with local traffic laws and route planning
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Ability to operate a vehicle for 8 hours or more
• Ability to lift & carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical labor
• Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and sit for long periods of time during daily routine
