Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Engage with battery storage system BoS (Balance of System) suppliers to drive integration efforts between Gotion's energy storage products with downstream equipment, including PCS, EMS, and other power and monitoring systems.
- Develop and review performance modeling of LFP battery energy storage systems, and provide guidance to external customers in modeling methodologies.
- Develop and review system electrical designs, including but not limited to cable sizing, short circuit protection, component and system grounding, auxiliary system loading, etc.
- Working with internal applications engineering team to support sales staff in providing robust energy storage system proposals and project designs.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, or other relevant engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience in electrical hardware integration, power converter design/testing, utility power distribution, or other relevant industry experience.
- Prior work experience in energy storage, power distribution, solar or other renewable energy strongly preferred.
- Working understanding of grid-tied energy storage system functions, performance modeling, BoS selection, and applicable standards including UL1973/1741/9540, NFPA70/NEC.
- In-depth understanding of HV power electronic components (active and passive) and expertise in developing associated characterization/validation testing methods
- Strong understanding of device characteristics, gate driving circuit design, thermal design, magnetics design (inductors, transformers), power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC), and control theories.
- Proficiency with EE tools (scopes, network analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, CAN tools)
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, with methodical troubleshooting track record on complex hardware/software systems.
- Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel, Visio), Adobe Acrobat Pro, AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications: - Strong preference for P.E. in electrical engineering, experience practicing in CA, IL, or NY
- Proficiency CAD software such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CATIA
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Advanced proficiency with MS O365 suite including SharePoint, Teams.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion. The base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.
Expected Pay Range
$70,000-$90,000 USD
